Depending on the people involved, it can be a great idea. For some, it's a horrible idea. For me it was very very good. First wife was killed when I was young. It took me 10 years to get back on the wedding go-round, but I did and am happily married again.

I am extremely happy being married. Many are not. It is an individual choice.
